Most of what American agencies are shown is built for twenty coordinators and priced accordingly, or it is built for clinical staffing and assumes a hospital on the other end. Rostavo is for the agency with one to five people in the office placing nannies, sitters, caregivers, housekeepers or pet sitters into private homes. Everyone you place is free. You pay for the desks, not the people.

What is different in US
Not a different product with a flag on it. These are the things that genuinely differ once your agency is in the United States.
Background checks run through Checkr
Connect your own Checkr account and order a check from the candidate record. They get the invitation, the status comes back onto their profile, and the result sits with everything else you hold on them. This is the one market where Rostavo orders the check rather than filing it.
Priced and billed in dollars
Your first office seat, then each further one. Caregivers, families and every login they use are free and unlimited. Pay yearly and you pay for ten months.
Your accountant gets a file they can open
QuickBooks Online and Xero exports, a generic CSV, and a payroll file that keeps clocked hours and scheduled hours in separate columns so whoever runs payroll can see what is evidenced rather than assumed.

What Rostavo does not do in US
Every vendor will tell you what their software does. This is the part you normally have to find out in week three.
We do not run your payroll
No W-2s, no 1099s, no state tax and no worker classification. Payroll means fifty sets of rules and doing it badly is worse for you than not doing it at all. You get the hours out as a file and run them where you run them now.
We are not HIPAA certified, and will not pretend otherwise
Rostavo is back office software for private-pay domestic and home care agencies, not a clinical record system. If you bill Medicare or Medicaid or handle protected health information, buy something built for that. What we do have is written out on the security page.
Your data is held in Frankfurt, Germany
Not in the United States. That is a straightforward disclosure rather than a selling point: for most private-pay agencies it changes nothing, and if it matters to you it is better known now than after you have moved your records.
The interface is written in British English
Organise, not organize, and the senior care setting calls its people carers rather than caregivers. Nothing is mistranslated and nobody has ever been confused by it, but you will notice, and we would rather you noticed here than on day three.

Questions from US agencies
Is Rostavo HIPAA compliant?
No, and we are not SOC 2 certified either. We are back office software for private-pay agencies placing people into homes. If you are billing Medicare or Medicaid, or handling protected health information, you need a product built for that and we are not it. The security page says exactly what we do have.
Do I need my own Checkr account?
Yes. You connect yours, so you keep your own pricing and your own relationship with them. If you do not use Checkr, you can still record whatever checks you run by hand, with their dates, and Rostavo will watch the expiry.
What does it cost for a two person office?
The first seat plus one more, in dollars, with every caregiver and every family included free. The exact figures are on the pricing page and they are the figures you are charged. There is no setup fee and no minimum term.
Can I use it for a nanny agency rather than home care?
Yes. Nanny, sitter, cleaning, pet care, household staffing and senior care are all supported, and the system uses that trade's words throughout rather than calling everyone a worker. Permanent placements with a fee and a guarantee work alongside hourly bookings.
